Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has confirmed the inclusion of United Arab Emirate's (UAE) Usman Khan in the national squad.

"Usman Khan is eligible for Pakistan and he will play for the national side," Naqvi stated during a media briefing in Lahore.

Naqvi's announcement follows Khan's outstanding performance in the Pakistan Super League's ninth edition (PSL 9). However, it also comes amidst controversy as Khan faced a ban from the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) due to breach of contract and misrepresentation.

The ECB cited that Khan breached his obligations by misrepresenting his decision to play for the UAE team, despite using opportunities provided by the ECB to seek other prospects.

Despite the setback, Khan participated in Pakistan's recent physical fitness camp at the Pakistan Army's Kakul facility, showcasing his commitment to national duties.

Addressing the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy, Naqvi affirmed that the event would proceed in Pakistan as scheduled. However, he remained cautious about discussing the Indian cricket team's participation at this stage.

Regarding team management, Naqvi disclosed that announcements regarding foreign head coaches would follow after April 15. The availability of these coaches for the upcoming series against New Zealand depends on contractual agreements, given Pakistan's busy cricket calendar, including matches against various nations.

Additionally, Naqvi highlighted the pre-Champions Trophy tri-party series in Pakistan, emphasizing the significance of international teams' visits as preparations intensify for the prestigious tournament.

Furthermore, Naqvi confirmed the squad announcement for the five-match T20I home series against New Zealand, scheduled for April 9. The series, beginning on April 18, will witness exciting clashes between the Black Caps and Pakistan, with matches spread across Rawalpindi and Lahore, concluding on April 27.
